Holiday Lunch Packs scheme
The North Lakes Foodbank Holiday LunchPacks Scheme started in 2015 to help fill the gap left by the absence of free school lunches during the school summer holidays. We worked in partnership with Sellafield Power Station to fundraise and collect food for the lunch packs, and activity sheets based on Bible stories were created to go with the packs, with colouring pencils generously donated by Cumberland Pencil Factory.
Since 2015 the scheme has developed and is now available in the Christmas and Easter holidays as well as the summer holidays. The Foodbank's Schools Worker now produces the activity packs, and donations of Easter eggs, advent calendars, toys and books from local individuals and businesses go out with the packs. During the Covid pandemic North Lakes Foodbank was able to expand the scheme to include secondary school pupils and we now help around 400 families in West Cumberland every school holiday.
Key dates and information for EASTER 2024

You will be able to collect your LunchPacks from Monday 25th March until Friday 12th April..

Holiday LunchPacks can be collected from Monday 25th March from one of our Foodbank centres or a satellite centre. You can find opening and Easter closure times below.

Please bring the voucher received from your child's school when collecting the LunchPack. If you do not present a voucher, you will not receive any food gift cards.

If this is your first visit with this scheme, please where possible bring proof of name and address.

You will be collecting 2 weeks' worth of LunchPacks. Please bring carrier bags to take all items home.

If your child has any dietary needs, please make this known to a Foodbank volunteer at the centre who may be able to offer you substitute items (available only at Foodbank centres).

If you are collecting from a satellite centre, you will receive food LunchPacks only.
