‘Holiday Lunch Pack’ Scheme for

Reception to school year 13 children.

We have now combined our primary aged scheme (Lunch Packs 4 Kids) & our secondary aged scheme (Food Packs – A Helping Hand) together, under the new name of ‘Holiday Lunch Packs. The criteria will still be the same, so if your child receives pupil premium and free school meals then your child should qualify. Please also check the criteria below. If you are unsure and you think you qualify for the scheme, please speak to your child’s school.

  • Holiday Lunch Packs are available for the 6 weeks of the summer holiday, for those families who qualify.

  • You will receive one ‘Holiday Lunch Pack’ for every 2 primary or secondary aged children, for each week of the summer holiday.

  • Lunch packs can be picked up weekly or fortnightly, from any of our Foodbank Centres. Locations and opening times will be given out with the voucher*.

  • There are special pick-up points in Aspatria, Keswick, Distington and Silloth (see voucher for details)

  • You will need a voucher from your primary school and your secondary school, if you have children in both.

  • Your lunch packs will also include fun activity sheets and crafts, while stocks last. Other resources and materials may also be available at some of our foodbank centres.

To get our Holiday Lunch Packs, you will need to apply for a voucher via your child’s school. You should have, by now, received a letter from your child’s school, notifying you about the scheme. If you have not received a letter and you think you qualify, please speak to your child’s school.

Please apply for the voucher, via your child’s school by Monday 20th June. If you have missed this deadline, please still speak to your child’s school, you may still be able to apply.

By Friday 15th July, you will receive a voucher from school that can be exchanged for a ‘Holiday Lunch Pack’ at any of our Foodbank Centres starting from Monday 25th July.

Below are the criteria that means that you could be eligible for free school meals and therefore qualify.

  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance

  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
