Van driver
Weekly Monday morning shifts, 10am-1pm
You’ll play an important role in promptly transporting food from collection points to the warehouse for sorting, and finally onto the local food bank, which will help to make a real difference in your community. A confident and safe driver, you’ll enjoy being part of a team and be physically strong so that you can lift and load crates of food. Your flexible and committed approach will help to maximise donations and improve the efficiency of the Foodbank.
You must be passionate about tackling poverty and helping your local community, be comfortable with IT and with speaking with people.
This role is physical and involves heavy lifting.

Centre volunteer (Cockermouth)
Weekly Tuesday morning shifts at Cockermouth centre, 10am-12pm
You will be part of the team that greets clients into the centre and gives out emergency food parcels. This role is client-facing. Signposting is an essential part of this role, providing clients with information that they might need as part of their journey out of their poverty crisis.
You must be passionate about tackling poverty and helping your local community, be comfortable with IT and with speaking with people.
This role is physical and involves heavy lifting.

Warehouse assistant (Cockermouth warehouse)
Weekly Wednesday morning shifts at warehouse, 10am-12pm
Acting as the link between food donations coming in and reaching those in crisis, you’ll support the smooth running of your local food bank. You’ll be part of a team sorting and packing food and additional items in the warehouse. You’ll be organised and have an eye for detail; this includes checking, weighing and recording stock and sorting food by date and type.
This is a physical role; you’ll be on your feet a lot and you must be comfortable with heavy lifting and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse.

Part of a small team supporting our fantastic volunteers
Building relationships with Foodbank volunteers; supporting them in their volunteering; providing pastoral support when needed.
