WE ARE

DEPUTY VOLUNTEER MANAGER AT WORKINGTON FOODBANK CENTRE

In this brand new role, the deputy would work with the volunteer Centre Manager, assisting to manage and coordinate the North Lakes Foodbank Centre in Workington, helping to lead a team of volunteers and ensuring that all areas of the Foodbank are run efficiently and to a high standard.

The role will entail up to 10 hours a week with a minimum of 4 hours over 2 session days (Mondays and either Wednesdays and Fridays). The deputy will also be responsible for the coordination of the Holiday LunchPack scheme during school holidays.

Tesco and Asda Donation Points

Tesco and Asda Donation Points are intended for food that has been purchased in-store. Any food that has been purchased in a different store and brought into the store should be sealed by the donor and clearly labelled as having been purchased elsewhere.

Referral Agencies

referral AGENCIES

The Foodbank relies on a network of referral agencies to support clients through their crisis and provide clients with a food voucher using Trussell Trust's online referral system to take to a Foodbank Centre where people receive emergency food parcels. Referral agencies include:

  • health visitors

  • social workers

  • housing support teams

  • children's support teams

  • churches

  • advisory organisations

  • debt advisory teams

  • welfare advisory teams

  • charity and community support teams

  • other community based support worker

If you work in a similar field and your organisation would like to be able to refer clients for emergency food, please contact North Lakes Foodbank at info@thefoodbank.org.uk to arrange becoming a referral agency with us.
