Charity Golf Day Donation - Jacobs Field Solutions (Cumbria)

Jacobs Field Solutions (Cumbria), based at Sellafield and Westlakes , raised over £1000 for The North Lakes Foodbank, at their recent Charity Golf Day. Approximately 50 people took part in the golf tournament in September at Eskdale Golf Course. As per previous years the weather was not kind, but it did not stop the enjoyment of the day.

Eleanor French, Operations Director for Jacobs, said, “ This is the 4th year that we have supported The North Lakes Foodbank and it was inspiring to view the activities required to ensure the smooth operation on a daily basis. We are pleased to be involved in such a worthwhile cause and the positive impact the charity makes across the county.’’

Adrian Cozens, Project Manager for The North Lakes Foodbank received the cheque at a presentation on 7th October at the Foodbank Warehouse in Cockermouth. He said “On behalf of our clients and volunteers at The North Lakes Foodbank, I would like to thank Jacob`s for their continuing support, and the generosity of those taking part; this makes a big difference to those who have need of our service at a point of crisis in their lives”.

Over the past 12 months the North Lakes Foodbank has supported the equivalent of 6,000 people in food poverty across Allerdale and Copeland. Over 60 tonnes of food was distributed which equates to the weight of a small family car each week! The Foodbank works with over 120 referral agencies and over 170 volunteers across the area, relying entirely on donations from the public.
