Generous donations.......

As last year those that attend Slimming World in Wigton chose to donate all the food they were given (but should not eat!) to the Foodbank. They also donated £40 which has been turned into ‘Kids’ meat (meatballs) for our Lunchpacks 4 Kids scheme. We are thankful to Denise and all those at Slimming World for thinking of us.

Adrian, our Project manager gave a talk to Bothel WI this week and they too kindly donated food and £25. This time the money was spent on tinned fruit. Adrian also judged the evening's competition which was to make a dish wholly from food that might be found in the food boxes that are given to people who use the Foodbank in their time of crisis. The winner was a pasta bake which included cornflakes as a crispy topping!

As part of this year’s National Apprenticeship Week Apprentices at Energus have been collecting tinned, dried food and provisions which they have donated to the North Lakes Food Bank.

On Monday the apprentices were working with a group of school children to create a sculpture using the donations to showcase this year’s National Apprenticeship Weeks theme of “Look Beyond”.
